in which they stop half way through an otherwise enjoyable song to take a steaming dubstep dump that completely derails the song and makes no particular sense. Band of Thieves, Warm Smiles… all ruined by a dollop of WUB.
Also, really letting the message get in the way of the music at this point. Perhaps none more hackneyed than the lyrics in Constellations. Look, nothing really works in rhythm with Sustainability. No Sleep Tonight was a great sounding, chantable anthem for mass dissatisfaction with catchy music, lyrics and message. There’s nothing anywhere near as complete on here.
Shame, really. Common Dreads really grew on me, Take to the Skies was a bit of a hot mess but certainly something fresh. This just seems like… like an E.P. Like a B-side collection from an album i missed somewhere along the line. I listen to it, i like it for a while, but not the attention grabbing, zeitgeist anthem i was expecting.
A solid C. Acceptable, but could do better.
